Humidity

How is the ordering code "cable length" defined?

The ordering code "cable length" is made up of the ordering code "probe length" and the real cable length.
e.g. your choice was ordering code "probe length" = 200mm and ordering code "cable length" = 5m -> then it results in a real cable length of 5m "cable length" - 200mm "probe length" = 4.8m real cable length

Is it possible to operate a transmitter with a 2-wire-output (output: 4...20mA) with AC supply?

No, that is impossible.

What is a coating-procedure exactly?

This is an additional humidity permeable protective film, which is applied directly onto the humidity sensor.
Advantage: better resistance of the sensor against corrosion, parallel resistors through conductive particles (low-ohm connections) are avoided
Disadvantage: slightly longer response-time

When is a high-humidity calibration recommended?

For measurements in humidity >85% RH which take a longer time (> 48h).

Can E+E's industrial sensing probes be operated at 0 bar (vacuum)?

Yes, the operation at 0 bar resp. in vacuum is possible without restriction.

Can E+E's industrial sensing probes be operated at 25 bar?

No, but the pressure-tight version of the EE31 transmitter can be operated up to max. 15 bar ambient pressure.

Is it possible to combine the switching outputs (option SW) with 2 connectors for supply/outputs and RS232 interface (option C07)?

No, that is impossible because of the housing-construction.

Can the configuration of the outputs (EE29/31/35/36 series) be changed in the field?

Yes, by means of the configuration software (included in the scope of supply) and an optional serial connector cable (ordering number: HA010301).

Is the EE31 transmitter sending clear text messages to the hyper-terminal?

No, only the EE30EX is sending clear text messages to the hyper-terminal.

How is it possible to query data of an EE31 via a serial connection?

Can be done through the optional E+E Logger- and Analysis Software (ordering number: HA010602) or by means of the communication protocol for the RS232 interface.

How much is the maximum allowed velocity of the pressure-tight sensing probe of the EE31?

The pressure-tight sensing probe of the EE31 (EE31 model E) is delivered with a stainless steel sintered filter cap. This allows measurements with velocities up to 50m/s (9840ft/min).

Can the EE31 transmitters be employed for dew point measurements as well?

That depends on the required accuracy, temperature and dew point temperature. Please observe those diagrams about the accuracies of the calculated variables.

Can customers calibrate the humidity of the EE21?

Yes, the EE21 provides both a 1-point humidity calibration and a 2-point humidity calibration which can be done by the customer.

Can customers calibrate the temperature of the EE21?

No

Is the humidity measurement of the EE21 without temperature output also temperature compensated?

Yes it is.

Is it possible to calibrate temperature as well with the humidity calibrator HUMOR 20?

Yes, with the additional reference temperature probe it is possible to calibrate temperature at room conditions. The temperature in the measurement chamber of the HUMOR 20 cant be changed.

Which calibration intervals are recommended?

The recommended calibration intervals depend on the humidity/temperature range of use.
