  • Why does the device feature three GND connections?

    The device has one GND connection for the power supply, a analogue output GND an an interface GND, see connection diagram in the operation malual. The analogue output GND and the interface GND carry only the current outpt resp. interface current, which results in a more stable signals compared to a mix GND connection.

  • I forgot my password for the EE310/EE360 display. How can I retrieve it?

    The retrofit is possible for the device with plastic enclosure. Order type number HA010606 is for device type T5 & T10 and HA010607 for device type T2.

  • The display shows "Device not ready or in firmware update mode?". What shall I do?

    The transmitter requires a firmware update. Connect the device via the Micro USB service interface to a PC running EE-PCS Product Configuration Software and confirm the update to version 1.20 or greater.

  • How can I download the data logger file containing the measured data via Ethernet interface?

  • How can I make sure that the pluggable probe matches to the correct basis device?

    The pluggable remote probe has a label with the serial number close to the connector. This must be same as the serial number of the basis device. Refer to the operation manual chapter 4.6 for further details.

  • Which is the maximum cable length of E2 interface?

    Each I²C devices does have it's own ID by series, as long as this ID is unique in the bus this module or component could get built into the bus.

  • What kind of calibration certificate is included in the standard scope of supply of the HUMOR 20?

    The Humor 20 scope of supply includes an inspection certificate according to DIN EN 10204 – 3.1 in the standard scope of supply. An accredited calibration certificate with specific test points is available upon request.

  • How can I get accredited calibration certificate for the HUMOR 20?

    Please mention that you require an accredited calibration certificate when inquiring for a new HUMOR 20 or when returning for service or re-calibration an existing Humor 20. The most common accredited certificate festure 3 calibration points (15/55/90%RH) or 5 calibration points (15/35/55/75/90%RH). Other certificates upon request.

  • How can I easily test if my HUMOR 20 performs within specs?

    During normal operation mode, incease the humidity generated by the Humor 10 to the maximum by rotating the blue knob counter-clockwise. The HUMOR 20 display will show arround 100% RH, flashing. Open the cover of the distilled water tank and remove the cover from the calibration chamber. If the display shows is 100 %RH ±0.8%RH, the Humor 20 is within specifications. Is the reading is beyond 100 %RH ±0.8%RH please see the operation manual, chapter 6.4.

  • I can see inside the measuring camber of the HUMOR 20 the sensing head of an RH sensor. What is it used for?

    This is the sensing head from the plausibility sensor from the HUMOR 20.

  • What is the temperature influence onto the HUMOR 20 humidity generator?

    By design, the temperature inside the measuring and the saturation cambers of the Humor 20 is uniform. By this, in the range 10 to 40°C the influence of the ambient temperature is negligible.

  • What precautions shall I observe when using the HUMOR 20 calibration throughout the manufacturing plant?

    With distilled water inside during transportation, the Humor 20 may be tilted max. 20°. If this cannot be assured, the water must be removed before transportation.

  • Which compressed air supply is appropriate for the HUMOR20?

    The humidity generator requires a compressed airof max. 10 bar (145psi), filtered from particles > 0.1µm , with residual oil <0.01mg/m³

  • Can I fill tap water into the HUMOR20?

    The humidity generator requires distilled water. Do not ever fill in tap water, because it causes depositsin the piping and pressure regulators, which lead to malfunktion and eventually to the failure of Humor 20.

  • Should I switch of the HUMOR20 in my laboratory when not in use in order to save energy and distilled water?

    When you plan to use the humidity generator again within 4 days we recommend to keep the it powered and the humidity level set to 100% rh. For a longer periods out og use, please remove the water and dry the humidity generator before switch of the power.

  • Can I use my own made cover for the measuring chamber in order to increase the volume of the chamber?

    The cover is part from the measuring chamber and is mandatory for an accurate calibration with the HUMOR20. Please consult E+E if a cover for your needs is already available.

  • The display of my HUMOR20 blinks. Is this normal?

    A blinking display after rotationg the blue knob for setting a new RH level indicates that the new RH evel has not been reached yet. The display should stop blinking after about 3 minutes when reached the new RH point. For a longer (or continuously) blinking display please consult the HUMOR20 operation manual.

  • How can I see the temperature inside the calibration chamber of the HUMOR20?

  • What is the difference between calibration and adjustment?

    Calibration means comparing the specimen with a reference and documenting the deviations. Adjustment mens bringing the specimen in line with the reference.

  • What is the difference between an accredited and an ISO calibration certificate?

    Both certificate state the deviation of the speciment from the reference, while the accredited certificate include also the overall uncertainity calibration process.   • What is the difference between E+E factory calibration certificate and ISO certificate?

  • Can E+E perform an accredited calibration of devices from other manufacturer?

  • What is the influence of coating on the response time?

    Response time of a humidity sensor protected by the E+E proprietary coating is slightly longer than the response time without coating. Please see the data sheet of the specific sensor.

  • The probe of the RH sensor is installed into separation wall and seems to be out of specs. Why?

    Temperature gradients along the sensing probes lead to relevant measurement errors. Whenever possible, install the entire probe inside the space to be monitored. If the probe is installed into a separation wall, make sure to isolate thermally the part of the probe looking out of the wall at the cable side.

    Calibration for a specific oil is a laboratory procedure for determining the saturation curve of the oil. The saturation curved is described by two parameters (A and B). These parameters are used for setting up the moisture in oil sensor for correct calculation of the water content (ppm) out of the measured temperature and water activity (aw).

    Yes, this in normal in several applications. It is the case for instance in new concrete buildings, due to the concrete carbonation effect. The calcium in the new concrete binds CO2 from the air.

    Low dew point means the difference between the ambient temperature and the dew point temperature is higher than 40 °C (72 °F). This corresponds to RH < 5%.

    The appropriate products are the EE371 and EE355. Both devices feature an auto-calibration procedure.

    High dew point means the difference between the ambient temperature and the dew point temperature is lower than 3 °C. It corresponds to RH > 85%.

  • What is the auto-calibration function at the E+E dew point measurement devices good for?

    The auto-calibration corrects periodically even the smallest drift of the capacitive sensor at very low relative humidity. This is neccessary for high accuracy and long term stability of the dew point measurement. The auto-calibration is performed every 30 minutes and takes approx. 3 minutes. During the auto-calibration, the output is frozen at the last measured dewpoint value.

    Both IS and XP are based on limiting the available electrical energy in explosive atmosphere. IS devices limit the electrical energy to a non-incendive level so that sparks cannot occur. XP devices contain any spark which may occur, and withstand escaping warm gas.
