Latest Technologies That Inspire

Focus on Employees

Karl is electronics developer and team leader of product concept and design team.

Karl has been working at E+E Elektronik for over 20 years and, together with his team, thinks about the product concepts and designs of our sensors.

Karl, what does your workday at E+E Elektronik look like?

I mainly have three tasks in the company:

As a Team Lead in the Product Concept and Design department, I am responsible for technical management of all our physical quantities, especially for our humidity, temperature and dew point sensors. That means, we maintain an overall view of product development, collaborate closely with the other departments and work together well with Production and the Product Management, Sales and Service departments. Besides fine-tuning performance specifications, we are also responsible for prototype building and commissioning.

In addition to my main tasks, there are many activities that have built up over the years. For example, I am also the contact person for customers who have questions about our products or need individual solutions.

Last but not least, I am the cake organiser on our floor; that's something I really love doing 😉

What is special about your work for you personally?

I think it's great to have a really varied range of tasks. My field of activity is wide, ranging from principles of physics to specialist electronics knowledge. I focus on material analysis, temperature measurements down to -200° C, test our products in the EMC chamber, do programming, liaise with our customers, exchange information on development feasibility with production employees and so on... What I enjoy most is that I get to work with the latest technologies and gadgets in my job every day.

What skills do you need to be an electronics developer?

You need to be tech-savvy and enjoy state-of-the-art technologies. As an electronics developer, you find explanations for questions that crop up; in other words, you are a problem solver and more solution-oriented than most people. And a good helping of coolness and composure will not hurt, as we also need to take a measured approach on many occasions.

What makes E+E Elektronik the right employer for you?

Honestly? I drive 120 km to and from work every day, and I do that because I enjoy my work; I get on really well with my colleagues, and I never get bored because of the diversity of my activities.
